Definitive Events has assembled a global team of 50 full time experienced staff that promotes ethical and responsible decision making. Our team offers many years of experience in event management strengthened with professionalism, client commitment and accountability.
The Team has outstanding relationships with all levels of Government and works closely with all Event Stakeholders and Partners.
Our company is focused on being a positive contributor to the health and welfare of our nation. We will continue to focus on the development of mass participation events that positively contribute to health, welfare, lifestyle and education. We are dedicated to producing outstanding activation programs for our event partners.
Coming from an infrastructure contracting side of the events industry, Rod joined
DE in 2003. Rod has over 18 years experience in event production, operations and logistics management. Rod is responsible for the production and management of the DE events portfolio. Rod is an outstanding team leader who excels in managing stakeholder relationships and event contracts. As the Executive Producer of the Anzac Day Commemorations in Gallipoli for the past 4 years Rod has significant international operations and logistics experience.

With over 25 years experience in sporting event management Garth has a legacy of forging the development of participation in cycling, running and swimming events for competitors ranging from novice to elite in Australia. Garth founded USM in 1982 to direct and manage the foreseen growth and development of the Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival, the second largest Olympic distance triathlon event in the world. Garth’s management ethos is constantly exploring new and cutting edge innovations in event management that delivers consistently professional, safe, world class events that generate excitement, passion, personal growth and participation for all ages and abilities.
Geoff has been with USM for 7 years and has a passion for ‘getting on the bike’.
As General Manager of DE/USM, he is responsible for the management of the
USM Events portfolio of events. He is a strong and respected team leader, very experienced at managing the triple constraint for projects; cost, time and quality, and is committed to the delivery of a safe, high standard event for all stakeholders. He continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and implements strategies to ensure clients expectations are exceeded.
Geoff is located in our Noosa office and manages the following key portfolio assets:
Since 1993 David has managed of over 300 events including State, National,
and World Championships. David was the Event Director of the 2009 Triathlon World Championships. His experience includes several ITU World Cup events, Race Director of the 2001 Goodwill Games, and Sports Specialist at the 2000 Olympic Games Triathlon. With this experience, David oversees the Operational elements of the USM Events portfolio and brings specialist knowledge into the team in relation to road course design and event implementation. David has strong relationships with relevant event stakeholders including Police, Councils, Sate Government, and Traffic Management services.
David is located in our Brisbane office and manages the following key portfolio assets:
Michael is the founding partner of TL Sports which was created in 2005. He will focus on the development of the companies cycling and running portfolio. Michael is the race director of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour. Previously he had a senior executive role with the Victorian Major Events Company as Strategic Manager where he was involved in developing strategic plans for Victoria’s event acquisition, regeneration and management policy.
